BMWs at Warsaw contemporary art museum

A collection of customised BMWs have gone on display at the Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw.

The collection, including a BMW V12 LMR, a Le Mans prototype built in 2000 and a BMW M3 GT2 designed by artist Jeff Koons from 2010, are meant to reflect the cultural and historical development of art, design and technology in the automobile industry, say the museum's curators.

The exhibition, which runs from 23 September to 19 October at the museum at Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw, which includes motor cars painted by pop artists Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, has already been shown at the Louvre in Paris and Guggenheim Museum in New York. (pg)
