The tram was launched on Tuesday in Katowice, and over the coming weeks, the vintage vehicle will also be appearing in other Silesian cities, including Bytom, Chorzow, Sosnowiec and Zabzre.

Besides savouring nativity scenes, passengers will also be able to peruse archival photographs and Christmas postcards.

A Christmas tree has also been installed in the tram.

The current concoction follows on from the popularity of previous Christmas trams created by the museum.

The idea behind the initiative is to encourage people to connect with folk art and traditions.

All rides on the yuletide tram are free of charge.

Last year, 4500 people took a ride in the tram, and this year's mobile exhibition will run until 6 January. (nh)
