Neon exhibition opens in Poznań
PR dla Zagranicy
An exhibition of neons opened at the National Museum in Poznań on Saturday.
Some 30 neons that once lit the streets of western Poland’s biggest city can be seen alongside photographs showing them in their original setting.
The exhibition charts the history of the neons in Poznań from its beginnings in 1880s when Franciszek Biskupski created an ad for Elektrotechnik Fund until the late Communist era.
In the days of the People’s Republic neons were one of the few bright spots in the generally grey streets of Polish cities.
The heyday for the neon in Polish cities came in the 1960s. (an)
