Under the direction of Krzysztof Dobosiewicz, the conductor who came up with the idea, the orchestra in the western Polish city of Gorzów will play the pop-culture tunes in a novel arrangement and context.

“This is primarily an idea to attract young people, including fans of computer games, both most recent ones and the cult productions, which have been played by successive generations,” Małgorzata Szwajlik of the Gorzów Philharmonics said. “I assure you that listening to this music live, performed by an orchestra is quite a different experience to listening to it on loudspeakers.

The 10 April concert will feature music from such games, as "Angry Birds", "Minecraft" and "Super Mario Bros". (an)
