Natalia Przybysz triumphs at 'Fryderyk' music awards

Singer Natalia Przybysz garnered the greatest success at Poland's 'Fryderyk' music industry awards on Thursday night.

Przybysz won the statuettes for Best Song ('Miód '/ Honey) and Best Rock Album (Prąd/ Current) in the awards, which are voted for by over 1300 members of Poland's Phonographic Academy.

Other winners included electropop outifut The Dumplings, for Best Debut, while Artur Rojek scooped the Best Pop Album gong.

The awards, which have been handed out since 1995, are named in honour of Polish-French composer Fryderyk Chopin.

The prize for Best Symphonic Album went to the Chamber Orchestra of the City of Tychy for Kilar/Moś/Aukso Aukso.

Meanwhile, in the jazz sphere, Marcin Wasilewski was proclaimed Artist of the Year. (nh)
