The works are performed by Martha Argerich (Concerto No. 1) and Maria João Pires (Concerto No.3) with the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century under Frans Brüggen.
The DVDs were produced by the National Fryderyk Chopin Institute, the organizer of the ‘Chopin and his Europe’ Festival in Warsaw, during which the concert with the two world-famous pianists was held.
The award-winning DVD set also contains a documentary film about the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century and its founder, Frans Brüggen, entitled ‘The Breath of the Orchestra’, which was made during the 2013 ‘Chopin and his Europe’ Festival by the young Polish film-maker Kasia Kasica. (mk/nh)
