A gift from a prominent local architect Jerzy Gottfried and his sister, the set includes recordings by leading foreign and Polish labels such as His Master’s Voice, Electrola, Columbia and Syrena Records.

Among them are extremely rare records by the German branch of Gramophone Record, dating from the 1906–1920 period.

It includes operatic arias sung by Enrico Caruso, performances by the violinist David Oistrakh and the pianist Leopold Godowski and the Berlin and Philadelphia symphony orchestras conducted by Toscanini, Stokowski and von Karajan as well as songs and arias by the Polish soprano Janina Korolewicz-Waydowa released in 1913 by the Warsaw-based Syrena Record.
