Dachshunds strut their stuff in Kraków's annual dog parade

Following tradition, the four-legged marchers entered the city's Main Market Square along the so-called Royal Way, following in the footsteps of Poland's former monarchs.

Once on the plaza, various contests were held, including one for 'the ideal couple.'

Another contest required willing dachshunds and their owners to guzzle down a plate of spaghetti together.

The parade, now in its 21st edition and co-organised by Radio Kraków, began as a decidedly local affair.

However, its fame has spread and the event now draws dachshunds and their owners not only from across Poland but also from abroad. (nh/rk)
