Warsaw cinema to screen Polish films with English subtitles

Warsaw’s Kultura cinema is to screen two Polish films released this year with English subtitles.

The programme catering to English-speaking viewers includes Krzysztof Łukaszewicz’s war drama Karbala. The film depicts the defence of Karbala city hall by Polish troops against Shiite rebels during a campaign in Iraq in 2004.
Another film will be Jerzy Zieliński’s comedy Król Życia (The King of Life). The movie portrays the struggle of 40-year-old Edward, who is stuck on the treadmill of everyday life until unexpected events occur.
The screenings are to be held between 18 and 31 December. (aba/pk)
