Over half of Polish medical university graduates leave Poland for countries like the US, Canada and New Zealand, the Gazeta Polska Codziennie daily has reported.

The paper said that bad working conditions in Poland, poor specialization programmes and a limited number of internships all contribute to young doctors flocking abroad.
Foreign countries are becoming more and more attractive for Polish medical graduates, Maciej Hamankiewicz from Poland’s Supreme Medical Council, was quoted by the paper as saying.
Meanwhile, Poland is increasingly experiencing a shortage of medical staff, the paper added.(tf/pk)
