The event hosts some 800 exhibitors and over a thousand writers from 25 countries, marking an all-time high in the fair's seven-year history.
The four-day event is gaining momentum this weekend with a number of established Polish authors showing up to sign their books, among them Olga Tokarczuk, Jerzy Pilch and poet Adam Zagajewski.
This year's guest of honour is Hungary, represented by writers the likes of György Spiró, Andrea Tompa and Attila Szalai. The event marks the launch of the Year of Hungarian Culture in Poland.
Also, as the city of Barcelona is a special guest, visitors have the opportunity to meet authors including Jordi Sierra i Fabra, Blanca Busquets and Rafel Nadal, as well as attend panel discussions dedicated to Catalan music, literature and history.
Last year, the event attracted some 72,000 visitors.
