Among the authors at the festival, one of the biggest events in the region dedicated to reading, are Lithuanian Kristina Sabaliauskaite, Argentinian Martin Caparros, Russia’s Boris Akunin and Poland’s Józef Hen.
This year’s programme includes a recital of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet by some of the country’s foremost actors, and includes music by Polish pop acts Fismoll, Skubas and Leski.
On Sunday, British novelist and screenwriter Deborah Moggach will conduct a talk on the joy of literary escapism, while book exchanges and public readings are among other planned attractions.
The festival runs 10-12 June. (rg/pk)
