Sopot Film Festival begins

The northern Polish town of Sopot opens its doors to international cinema with over 120 movies from all over the world to be screened during the Sopot Film Festival, running 9-17 July.

The program of the event features three international competitions, a review of new Iranian cinema, retrospectives of Krzysztof Krauze, Luis Buñuel and Werner Herzog as well as concerts, workshops and meetings with guests.

Guests at the festival include Polish actors Andrzej Chyra and Magdalena Cielecka as well as directors Magdalena Łazarkiewicz, Anna Kazejak and Mariusz Grzegorzek.
