Written by Judith Kelly, the book consists of two parts.

The first one contains a brief biography of the Blessed Jerzy Popiełuszko, the Solidarity priest who was murdered by the communist secret services in 1984, and the second is a chronicle of his visits to the United States and Canada, with numerous photographs and reminiscences of people who hosted him in various places.

Father Popiełuszko made several visits overseas, starting from 1974. He toured the United States and Canada also in 1976, 1980, and in 1981, when he participated in the funeral of his aunt in Pittsburgh.

Judith Kelly is an American of Polish descent. An activist for the Pax Christi organization, she has made numerous visits to Poland, the last of which was for the World Youth Day with Pope Francis in Kraków. (mk/rg)
