The book shows Poland’s most prominent designers from 1930 to now.

It documents fashion trends as they evolved over 44 years of communist rule and during a later period of transformation after the Iron Curtain fell.

The book's author, Marcin Różyc, said the publication is a work of art in itself. Its pages are not bound and each card can be considered individually, with a photograph set on an artistic background on one side, and descriptive writing on the other.

“We wanted to draw the eye,” Różyc said.

“I have not put out a book so much as a sculpture, a kind of installation, because it's very conceptual,” he added.

The Polish Cultural Institute in London has released 250 copies, however more may be published in the future. The contents of the book are available at www.polishfashionstories.com. (vb/pk)
