The event has been entered by 16 young singers from Poland, Hungary and China.
This is the fifth edition of the Reszke Memorial Competition, which was launched in 2009 and is held every two years.
Edward Reszke (bass, 1853-1917), Jan Reszke (tenor, 1850-1925) and Józefina Reszke (soprano, 1855-1891) were among the first Polish singers appearing at such prestigious venues as Milan’s La Scala, the Royal Opera House in London, and the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
After completing their artistic careers, they settled close to Częstochowa, where they contributed to various charitable and cultural activities.
