A group of classical music enthusiasts have come up with a Polish answer to the US event “Bach in the Subways, which was launched six years ago in New York by cellist Dale Henderson.
Flautist Antonina Styczeń, with assistance from soprano Aleksandra Klimczak and the o.to.ja Foundation, which specializes in the promotion of classical music, have organized a weekend of half-hour and hour-long concerts in several venues across Warsaw.
These include open-air sites, cafes, shopping centres and the central railway station.
All the concerts feature works by Johann Sebastian Bach. The event coincides with the 332nd anniversary of the composer’s birth.
