Polish designs at Milan Furniture Fair are specific to the geography, natural resources, traditions and cultures of the universities from which they emerged, the exhibition's organiser, Academic Design Centre (ACD), said.

According to ACD, the exhibition, entitled "Polish Design: Tomorrow is today" aims to showcase modern design education in Poland while showing off not only the talents of particular students but also the specialities of the schools they represent.

Each element of the exhibit is an open book telling the story of the university from which it emerged, and is accompanied by a multimedia presentation, ACD said.

Curated by Milan-based Polish designer Dorota Koziara, Polish Design continues until April 9. (vb)
