Polish students runners-up in world programming contest

The Warsaw Eagles, a team of Warsaw University students, have won second place in the International Collegiate Programming Contest held in Rapid City, South Dakota, US.

The group from the faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics lost to a team from St Petersburg, Russia.

Poland was also represented by teams from the Jagiellonian University in Kraków and the University of Wrocław.

A total of 133 teams from 44 countries on six continents took part in the event. They had been selected in a preliminary round entered by over 46,000 students from 103 countries. (mk/rg)
