Movie buffs will be able to catch films including Ruben Ostlund’s The Square and Birds are Singing in Kigali by Joanna Kos-Krauze and Krzysztof Krauze.

Roman Gutek, who oversees New Horizons, said this year's event would hark back to the roots of the festival, when “we aimed above all to draw attention to film-makers who were not present in cinemas and... festivals.

We wanted to show their films in Poland, and we want to show similar movies now.”

The festival, now in its 17th year, runs from 3-13 August. Details at www.nowehoryzonty.pl
