The highlight of the event is the prestigious Pride of Poland thoroughbred auction on August 13, which draws buyers from around the world.

This year marks 200 years since the renowned stud farm in Janów Podlaski was set up.

Pride of Poland was last year hit by problems, with the star of the auction being sold twice.

The 16-year old mare Emira had been expected to achieve the highest price. She was initially sold for EUR 550,000 and then re-auctioned and sold for EUR 225,000 after the first buyer withdrew.

Last year’s auction raised EUR 1.27 million, less than in the previous two years.
