Performances will allow listeners to trace how notions of the avant-garde have changed over the years.
Audiences will hear the work of avant-garde musicians of the 1960s and 1970s, including Tadeusz Baird, Krzysztof Penderecki, Wojciech Kilar and Andrzej Dobrowolski.
These will be juxtaposed against work by younger composers such as Alexander Schubert, Brigitta Muntendorf and Christophe Bertrand.
The festivals starts at 7:30pm on Friday at the National Philharmonic in Warsaw.
