Warsaw Film Festival opens

More than 100 feature-length films and shorts from 39 different countries will be screened at the 33rd Warsaw Film Festival, which starts in Poland on Friday.

Festival director Stefan Laudyn said 15 productions, including Polish films such as Andrzej Jakimowski's One time in November, and Urszula Antoniak's Between Words, as well as productions from Sweden, Slovenia, Iran, Russia and China have been entered in the festival's international competition.

A Free Spirit prize for experimental cinema and documentary and shorts awards will also be announced during the festival.

The Warsaw Film Festival closes on October 22. (vb/pk)
