Predictably, well-to-do Poles are more avid newspaper readers than the rest of the population, the Rzeczpospolita daily reported.

Sixty-two percent of Poles with average monthly incomes of more than PLN 14,000 (EUR 3,330) read newspapers every day, according to Rzeczpospolita.

Twenty-four percent of Poles spend more than an hour a day reading newspapers, while the figure for well-to-do readers is 54 percent, the paper said.

It also quoted a recent study by professional services company KPMG according to which the Polish luxury goods market is worth PLN 21 billion (EUR 5 billion) and is likely to expand to be worth PLN 31 billion by 2021.

There are 1.1 million affluent and wealthy individuals in Poland, according to KPMG.
