And 12 percent of kids said they have encountered nudity, according to the study. The findings were released to coincide with Safer Internet Day, which started as an EU initiative in 2004.

The survey found that just one in three Polish parents check what content their children view online.

Over half of the children surveyed said that they install mobile phone apps on their own.

The study was conducted in November and December last year on a nationwide sample of 500 children and their parents.

The data was published on Tuesday by Poland’s Office of Electronic Communications.
