Loving Vincent is in the running for the Oscar for the best animated feature film and is competing against Coco, The Boss Baby, Ferdinand, and The Breadwinner.

Polish co-director Dotora Kobiela does not expect an award for Loving Vincent, which had a USD 5.5 million budget, compared to Coco, which cost USD 175 million, according to Polish Radio.

But the Polish director said her film challenges stereotypes about Oscar nominations because Loving Vincent was not made in a major studio, is not mainstream and, though animated, is not a children's film, Polish Radio reported. (vb)
