Tom Evans said on Facebook that his 23-month-old son, who was suffering from a rare undiagnosed degenerative neurological condition, had died overnight in a hospital in Liverpool.

Earlier in the week the boy was taken off life support. A UK high had ruled that the boy's parents could not take him abroad for further treatment

Dozens of people on Wednesday staged a silent demonstration in front of the British embassy in Warsaw to show their support for Alfie Evans' parents, according to reports.

Thousands reportedly signed a petition to Duda, asking him to grant Alfie Polish citizenship so that the boy could be given medical care in Poland.
