The event, which focuses on documentary, animated and short films, started in the southern Polish city on Sunday and runs for eight days.

In addition to screenings, the festival offers workshops, exhibitions, concerts and events for the film industry, including presentations of new Polish documentary and animated projects.

The festival opened with the screening of a documentary called “Concerto for Two” by Tomasz Drozdowicz, charting the life of outstanding Polish conductor, pianist and composer Jerzy Maksymiuk and his relationship with his wife.

This year’s festival has a section focusing on Estonia, highlighting the latest documentary and short films from that country.

Details of screenings can be found at www.krakowfilmfestival.pl.
