He will perform as part of a trio that includes Paweł Pańta (double bass) and Cezary Konrad (drums), and with celebrated trumpeter Randy Brecker as special guest.

Blue Note describes Pawlik on its website as an “iconic” figure and his trio as “one of the most celebrated groups in Polish jazz that has achieved a substantial success at international level.”

Their collaboration with Brecker has resulted in two highly-acclaimed CDs: Jazz Suite Tykocin and Night in Calisia.

The latter -- commissioned by the central Polish city of Kalisz to commemorate its 1,850th anniversary -- received a Grammy in the Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album category in 2014.

Born in 1958, Pawlik studied piano performance at the Music Academy in Warsaw and jazz at the Hochschule fur Musik in Hamburg, Germany.

His compositional output includes orchestral works, two piano concertos, ballet music, film soundtracks and incidental music for the theatre.
