Final farewell for Polish-American historian in Michigan

An American historian of Polish descent, Professor Tadeusz Radziłowski, is to be buried in Michigan, USA, on Wednesday.

The founder of the Piast Institute, a Polish-US affairs research and policy centre, and champion of Poland and the Polish diaspora died aged 80 on July 20.
Radziłowski was a doctor of history at the University of Michigan who specialised in migrations and the history of Poland and Central and Eastern Europe.
He was a dean at Southwest Minnesota State University and at St. Mary's College of Madonna University while working with the Polish Academy of Sciences and lecturing at Kraków’s Jagiellonian University.
He was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland, granted to foreigners and Poles living abroad for their service to Poland, in 1999. (vb)
