Entitled Being Poland: A New History of Polish Literature and Culture since 1918, it is a comprehensive reference book which looks at the ways in which the far-reaching changes that occurred in Poland since it regained independence in 1918 are reflected in the literature, film and theatre.
The essays were written by authors from Poland, North America and several European countries.
The book was edited by Tamara Trojanowska, the director of the Center for Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Toronto, Joanna Niżyńska of Indiana University, and Przemysław Czapliński of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. (mk/vb)
