More Poles sending kids to private schools: report

The number of private schools nationwide is on the rise, and they are viewed as increasingly attractive, the Gazeta Polska Codziennie newspaper has reported, citing a study entitled "Our Kids."

The paper says people are interested in sending their children to private schools despite the costs involved.

Private schools are more popular in part because average wages in the country are growing, according to Gazeta Polska Codziennie.

Average wages in Poland in September rose 6.7 percent compared with the same month last year, the country’s Central Statistical Office reported last month.

The Polish economy grew 5.1 percent in the third quarter of this year, the statistical office said on Wednesday in a flash estimate.
