Cold War is a love story between two people of different backgrounds and temperaments, set against the backdrop of the Cold War in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

The film has received three Oscar nominations, for Best Director, Best Cinematography and Best Foreign Language Film.

The Spanish Goya Award for best animation went to Another Day of Life, a blend of animation and documentary based on a book by Ryszard Kapuściński, the acclaimed Polish journalist and writer, who died in 2007.

The film is the work of the Polish-Spanish team Damian Nenow and Raúl de la Fuente.

Established in 1987, the Goya Awards are Spain’s main annual film prizes.
