Minister of Culture Bogdan Zdrojewski has championed the forthcoming Polish History Museum as a space that will appeal to all age-groups.

The winning design for the institution's permanent exhibition was announced yesterday in Warsaw, with the jury picking a joint venture by Marcin Mostafa's WWAA Design Studio and animation company Platige Image.

“The exhibition will be truly interesting,” the minister told the Polish Press Agency, noting that the project will combine virtual reality with more archaic elements.

“The exhibition is for everyone,” he affirmed, “from the youngest to the oldest."

Construction of the new headquarters of the museum is due to take place near Plac Na Rozdrozu (Crossroads Square), in the vicinity of the Zamek Ujazdowski contemporary art museum.

Krzysztof Noworyta from Platige Image explained that his team “wanted to create the kind of museum that we could present to our own children.”

The decision of the jury was unanimous, and a prize of 250,000 zloty (55,900 euros) has been awarded to the winning group. (nh/pg)
