She was 66 years-old.

Jarocka first began singing with the Cathedral choir in the Gdańsk district of Oliwa.

After her first success in 1968 at the Sopot song festival, she became one of the top personalities on the Polish music stage, winning not only a collection of official prizes, but also popularity titles from the public.

In 1990 she emigrated to the United States, continuing to sing and record, and also to act in theatre.

She returned to Poland in 2007, publishing here her autobiography and an album of Christmas carols. In 2010 with Michael Bolton she recorded the song Break Free. (ek/pg)
