According to Adam Struzik, the Marshal at the Mazovia province, which is coordinating getting the tourists back to Poland, "there is a profound suspicion a crime has been committed with the intention of misleading customers."

He added that it is suspected that customers were asked to pay for holidays right up until last weekend, although Sky Club knew that the company was threatened with insolvency and would not be able to honour their side of the bargain of providing vacations for the holiday makers.

The process of returning tourists from resorts where hoteliers have asked them to leave is continuing.

“I have set up a team of eight people, working 24-hours around the clock. We are in constant contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” Marshal Struzik has said.

The Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying they are monitoring the process of returning holiday makers from Bulgaria, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia and Cuba. (pg)
