Jobless rate falls slightly in Poland

Poland’s unemployment rate fell by 0.1 percent in July, compared to the month before, according to the state’s Central Statistical Office (GUS).
The number of registered unemployed at Labour Offices was 1,953,200 with the worst jobless rates experienced in the north east Warmia and Mazury,region, where unemployment is 19.1 percent.
GUS also released retail sales figures, showing an increase in July year-on-year, slower than the 6.4 percent gain seen in June. (pg)
