In the period 2004-2011, chiming in with Poland's accession to the EU, the export of cigarettes has risen by some 1200 percent.

Poland, which is the second biggest tobacco producer in the EU, currently exports cigarettes to 72 countries across the globe, including Japan, Indonesia and Mauritius.

The current value of Polish cigarette exports is 1.2 billion euro.

Other notably successful exports are foodstuffs, as noted in the Puls Biznesu daily,

Of the twenty groups of products that have increased their exports the most over the last seven years, as many as eleven are foodstuffs.

The strongest performer of these is grain, sales of which have risen by 803 percent.

The overall increase in exports of Polish products since joining the EU is 129 percent, from 60 to 137 billion euro. (nh)
