Boeing are expected to submit proposals to LOT national airline for financial compensation, after the grounding of its 787 Dreamliner fleet, says the company's CEO.

“I can confirm that talks on compensation are ongoing,” says LOT chief Sebastian Mikosz.

“We expect that in two weeks time Boeing will submit its proposal,” he added.

LOT's CEO did not reveal what amount Poland's natinal carrier is demanding after safety concerns over the 787s batteries led to a worldwide grounding of the aircraft for the first six months of this year.

Deputy treasury minister Rafał Baniak said in June that the direct costs incurred by the carrier amounted to around 25 million euros. (pg)
