Apartment prices continue to fall in Poland

The cost of used apartments in Poland's largest cities has fallen on average by 3.4 percent since September 2012.

According to the survey, which was carried out by the Open Finance consultancy firm together with web site domy.pl, the largest fall in prices has been in Katowice, the capital of Upper Silesia.

Prices in Katowice have fallen by as much as 6.1 percent over the last twelve months, and the average cost of a square metre of apartment space there is currently 3698 zloty (887 euro).

The second largest drop was registered in Gdansk on the Baltic, where the average cost is now 5.7 percent cheaper than it was in September 2012.

Third place was taken by Opole, where prices are down 5 percent.

Meanwhile, the lowest declines in cost were seen in Rzeszow, Gorzow Wielkopolski and Lodz, where the prices fell by about 1 percent.

Warsaw is down 3.1 percent, and Krakow 2.1 percent.
