Ahead of a cabinet reshuffle this month, a new poll has found that Finance Minister Jacek Rostowski is the most unpopular minister in the Civic Platform/PSL government.

Fifty five percent of respondents told pollster MillwardBrown that they are dissatisfied with the work of Jacek Rostowski, following a deeper than expected economic slowdown for much of this year and a controversial decision to reform Poland's pension system.

Rostowski dismissed reports this summer that he could resign in November, saying he wants to stay on until at least next spring, to push through necessary reforms.

One-in-two surveyed also said that Prime Minister Donald Tusk should resign as head of the centre-right Civic Platform-led government, in power in Poland since 2007.

A majority of respondents said that sports minister Joanna Mucha should also get the sack, with 52 percent dissatisfied with her work.

Forty nine percent said health minister Bartosz Arłukowicz should resign and 47 percent expressed dissatisfaction with education minister Krystyna Szumilas. (pg)
