The Tokyo-based firm plans to merge Socializer with Denstu's subsidiary company Isobar, which specialises in digital marketing.

Following the takeover, Isobar would have about 350 employees in Poland.

In a statement released by Dentsu, the Japanese company said the merger was “an initiative aimed at further growth in the country's booming digital market.

“Founded in 2011, Socializer has grown rapidly through its advertising business utilizing social media as well as through the provision of innovative social media services including the development of applications and the management of corporate fan pages,” Dentsu outlined.

“The company now holds a leading position among social media agencies in Poland.”

Dentsu noted that gross profits for the 2012 financial year were 1.7 million British pounds.

Socializer CEO Lukasz Misiukanis will not part ways after the deal goes through, and he will serve as media and social director of Isobar Poland.

Denstu has not disclosed the sum that will be paid in the takeover. (nh)
