According to Tomasz Siwak, chairman of Radom Airport, negotiations with the bidder are ongoing, and parallel talks are being held with the city's bank.

Siwak has told Polish Radio that the outcome of the discussions will be revealed following a meeting of the city council in October.

Poland's 14th civilian airport opened in late May,with the site converted from a military airbase.

The city is currently the sole owner of the airport, and about 50 million zloty (11.8 million euro) have been invested in the venture to date.

No contract has been signed yet with an airline that would run regular connections with the airport.

Siwak says that another wave of investment is needed, including the construction of a second apron, as well as the extension and lighting of the runway. (nh)
