The company, known as UniConf, has announced on LinkedIn that it is looking for a national sales manager in Poland. The chosen candidate would be responsible for preparing the firm's entry on the Polish market and carrying it out.

UniConf is part of the Guta capital group. It is the 16th largest confectionery producer in the world, with a sales revenue of some 1.7 billion US dollars, according to sector portal Candy Industry.

So far, exports accounted for only several percent of the company's sales. A year ago it's export sales director Timothy Odenwald told jus-food.com that UniConf was planning expansion in Europe, North America and Asia. The company also started using non-Russian language packaging for its products at the time.

Poland, which was alredy mentioned by Odenwald last year, could be one of the first new export markets for UniConf. However, it may also turn out to be a difficult market, with a high number of domestic and foreign-owned confectionery firms.

According to a report issued in June, Poland's domestic confectionery market was worth 12.7 billion zloty (3 billion euro) in 2013, while sweets worth 6.3 billion zloty (1.5 billion euro) were exported. (kw)
