In fact, 88 percent of adult Poles will drink beer this year, according to the consultancy.

The country has also become a significant producer of beer. In 2013, four billion litres of beer were produced in Poland.

Last year Poles spent 19.3 billion zloty on 3.82 billion litres of beer. As much of 47 percent of Poles’ expenditure on alcoholic products is spent on beer. (rg/jb)
