The figures are in line with GUS’s earlier estimates published in late October.
“In the third quarter of 2014, seasonally adjusted GDP (in fixed price terms with reference to 2010), grew by 0.9 percent in real terms on the previosu quarter and was higher than last year by 3.4 percent,” GUS said in a statement.
“Hawks and doves now have their arguments,” wrote Raiffeisen Bank in a tweet, referring to the rate-setting Monetary Policy Council which is expected to cut interest rates following its next meeting on 3 December.
“The period of deflation has likely been extended to the third quarter, but GDP does not require stimulation.” (rg/jb)
