Poland EU’s third in terms of planned investments

With a planned EUR 123.8 billion investment, Poland follows only Italy and France in the 28-country bloc.

Poland expects to spend EUR 33.6 billion on energy, EUR 13.3 billion on environmental investments and EUR 63.9 billion on social policy.

Just EUR 6.0 billion has been earmarked for digital investments – a figure which much lower than other countries.

In comparison, Germany plans to spend EUR 34.4 billion on digitalisation in the coming years, while big spenders Italy and France have expenditure plans of EUR 82.7 billion and EUR 49.7 billion respectively.

The forecasts are part of the so-called Juncker plan. In the past, Poland was among the EU’s highest beneficiaries of aid. (rg)
