“Our team is constantly looking for new opportunities, partnerships and cooperations with startups bringing great ideas. One of the reasons behind this initiative was to test how quick and comfortable the top-up process could be. Simplifying it to four taps while keeping high security standards is a significant achievement,” a T-Mobile Poland representative told industry website CoinDesk.

The service is in partnership with Polish bitcoin payment processor InPay S.A., and will be trialed for three months, and is aimed to assess the interest for such a service among prepaid telephone users.

Lech Wilczyński, CEO of InPay, told CoinDesk that the process was designed with smartphone users in mind, adding that “bitcoin wallets respond to intentions and that really helps when you want to pay on a website while surfing the web on a mobile browser.” (rg)
