“According to our calculations, currently 51 Polish-built planes are in operation in Australia, 30 of them being [PZL-Mielec M-18] Dromader units, which are used for extinguishing fires, [...] and we see potential here for business cooperation,” Paweł Milewski, Poland’s Ambassador to Australia told Polish Radio.

The trip comes as distances in Australia allow for greater use of private aviaition transport. “The market is huge for smaller aircraft, with a number of private individuals possibly interested in the Polish machines,” Milewski said.

In February 2015, three Polish aviation firms were present at the Avalon Airshow, Australia’s largest aviation trade fair. (jb)
