In the following years, the GDP forecast stands at 3.9 percent and 4 percent in 2017 and 2018 respectively.

The statement came after the government rubberstamped an update to its convergence programme, which also states that deflation this year is to come in at 0.2 percent.

Meanwhile, unemployment is to stand at 8.2 percent this year, while in 2016 it is expected to amount to 7.6 percent.

The update is part of the government’s “Multiannual Financial Plan 2015-2018” drafted by the Finance Ministry. (jb)
